Light will do a quick low damage move, and heavy will do a slower but more damaging move. L, M, and H stand for light, medium, and heavy respectively, and they act pretty much exactly the way they sound. Each button will perform a different basic attack. The two games in Marvel vs Capcom Origins both use a six button layout, which should be familiar to you if you’ve ever played any of Capcom’s many fighting games. Also, if you quit in the middle of a match, any progress you made during that match or arcade playthrough will be lost. Keep in mind that anything you do in training mode does not count towards any challenges or achievements. You can keep track of your progress from the challenges menu and they’re also updated live on the sidebar during matches. You can make progress towards them while you play through arcade mode with every character and then finish up any you haven’t completed in local matches with a second controller. Take a look at the list of challenges tied to achievements before starting. You don’t have to complete every challenge to unlock all the achievements. For example, executing a hyper combo 100 times. These challenges mostly involve performing certain actions in fights multiple times. The achievements will also say which game they need to be done in. The red ones must be done in Marvel Super heroes, the blue ones must be done in Marvel vs Capcom, and the ones that are red+blue can be done in either version. You can view the requirements for all the challenges from the challenges menu. They can all be done very easily with little to no effort if you do them in a local match with a second controller. The rest of the achievements are tied to in-game challenges.
However with some persistence you should be able to figure it out. The most difficult part of collecting all achievements will most likely be defeating Onslaught. Even if you’re not experienced in fighting games, most of this should be fairly easy to pick up. The difficulty can be lowered to make it much easier. To unlock all the achievements in this game, you’ll have to beat arcade mode with every character in each game (excluding the hidden characters in Marvel Super Heroes).
